Vancouver was world-renowned for prune production and heralded itself ‘The Prune Capital of the World’. The portrait in this panel shows Fay Vance, the 1919 Prune Queen.
We found a photo of the local Elks Club members, very nattily dressed in shirts, ties, hats, socks, and garters -- but no pants! They wore barrels that said "Full of Prunes!" How could we resist? |
