| The portrait in this panel is of Eva Santee, a long-time and well-loved librarian. The first library in Vancouver was built in 1909 with funds from the Carnegie Foundation. The magnificent Camperdown Elm in front of the library was planted in 1915. A new library built in 1963 also had a splendid tree planted in front – an Albizia tree –lost in the ice storm of 2004. A bookmobile is on the top border. Vietnamese greeting. |
